Description

The 2-temperatures choice nociception test (thermal place preference) paradigm allows working on unrestrained animals let free to choose between two compartments with different temperature.

This test is experimenter-independent since there is no animal handling during the experiment making it a very attractive test respect to the traditional hot/cold plate tests. Time spent into the two compartments, crossing time and the temperature in each zone are provided in an automated manner allowing a reliable determination of the animal thermal pain threshold.
